Summer is show season here at Kittisford Barton Farm, and we’re thrilled to be taking our Dexter cattle on the road to some of the South West’s most loved agricultural shows.
Our Dexter cattle are a huge part of what makes the farm tick. They’re one of the smallest native British breeds, incredibly hardy, and perfectly suited to our Somerset pastures. Their docile nature makes them wonderful to work with, and they produce fantastic quality beef - something guests at The Cottage Beyond often ask about (and sometimes get to sample!).

- Mid Devon Show - 26 July
- Totnes Show - 27 July
- North Devon Show - 6 August
- Honiton Show - 7 August
- Dunster Show - 15 August
- Dorset Show - 6-7 September
Showing cattle is a true family affair, and this year our Young Handlers will be stepping into the ring too. With halters in hand and nerves of steel, they’ll be proudly leading their calves in junior classes. It’s an amazing way to build confidence, responsibility, and a real connection to the animals they help care for all year round. It’s also great fun - and there’s usually an ice cream at the end!
