We’re so excited to introduce the newest - and possibly some of the cutest - members of our farm family here in Somerset - meet Oak, Beech and Birch, our trio of pygmy goats now happily settled in the orchard next to The Cottage Beyond.
These charming little characters have brought even more life and laughter to the farm, and guests are already falling in love with their playful antics. Whether they’re hopping across their custom-built bridge, lounging on sun-soaked platforms, or gently bleating for attention, Oak, Beech and Birch are a delight to watch - especially for children and animal lovers.
Why Pygmy Goats?
Pygmy goats are a miniature breed of domestic goat originally from West Africa. Despite their small size, they are hardy, friendly, and full of personality. Known for being inquisitive, intelligent and sociable, pygmy goats make fantastic additions to a family-friendly farm setting. They love interaction and are especially fond of climbing - which is why we’ve built them an adventure-worthy setup of platforms and a bridge to enjoy.
Not only are pygmy goats adorable, but they also make wonderful companions for each other. That’s why Oak, Beech and Birch live together as a close-knit little herd, roaming their spacious orchard home, playing in the dappled sunlight, and munching on hay, fresh grass and the occasional leafy treat.
Where to Find Them
