Embrace the Journey

Find your way back to The Cottage Beyond!

It is almost time for us to re-open our doors to you, our fabulous guests!

After a whole year of pandemic, with only short periods of opening during that time we are now busy preparing The Cottage Beyond; painting, re-filling the pool and reminding ourselves of all our procedures and practices.

This got me thinking; will our returning guests even remember the way here??!!  So, here are a few sights to jog your memory; it won't be long until you are on your way here; and we can't wait!

So...what should you look out for?

The Wellington Monument.

The Wellington Monument is visable from the M5, and you'll catch glimpses of it as you travel up the A38.  Owned by the National Trust, it has recenly been repaired and would provide a great leg stretch if you were ahead of schedule.  The Monument is also visible from the Spa Hall and Bedroom 2.

The Beambridge Inn

The Beambridge Inn is located on the A38 just as you turn into the country lanes; they have been working hard for our local community during the Covid pandemic, creating a shop supplying essentials, alongside developing a great delivery service - from groceries through to meals to cook at home and cream teas.  When open, this is a great stop off or meeting point, just 10mins from The Cottage Beyond.

White Post

If you come accross the White Post Cafe sign then it may well be that you have become slightly navigationally embarrased - no worries - this is the perfect place to get a fabulous Braziers Coffee; some cake or a light bite.  Their garden has fabulous views accross Wellington and they are next-door to a garden nursery and a boutique second hand shop - Green Bee Trading - that is worth an explore.

Watery Lane

Once you have got youself heading in the right direction again you will come up over Lutley Bridge at Watery Lane - this picture-perfect bridge, popping over the river Tone marks the point that you arrive on the farm.  A great spot for paddling, dipping and splashing - or playing pooh sticks - no doubt you'll be back down here on a walk at some point!

Nearly Here!

With just half a mile to go to reach The Cottage Beyond; its up the hill, along the flat, past the sign for Lantern and Larks (our son's Glamping Business, for those who fancy experiencing Kittisford Barton from under canvas), a small dip and a little hill, then finally - The Cottage Beyond signpost - you're here!

No matter where you are travelling from to reach The Cottage Beyond we hope your journeys are smooth and safe, and that once you've turned of the A30 the sights that you drive past bring back happy memories; we can't wait to welcome you all back!
