Turn off the lane to your journey’s end and follow the tree lined drive to The Cottage Beyond; this is right where your holiday begins, so pull, up, get out and have a stretch, get your bags out and go on in. You’ll love it; it feels like home and honestly, it won’t take you long to settle in at all.

The house is so unique, beautifully designed around what was a farm worker’s cottage back in the day; it was a very modest abode then but now it offers spacious and homely self catering group accommodation. Off the wide hallway to the left is a spacious living/dining room with sofas to snuggle on in front of the open fire; the dining area sets the scene perfectly for the happiest of celebrations, with a long table to seat 14.

Then it’s through to the kitchen, custom built for the house, with a walk-in larder, and everything you need to make catering for a large group easy. You’ll probably find that people tend to linger here, and even though there are two dishwashers, suddenly no-one minds doing the washing up. Who can blame them, it’s the perfect spot for watching the comings and goings on the bird table, or just for kitchen sink dreaming. Off the kitchen there’s a snug which makes a good quiet space for reading or an intimate chat, or a playroom for the little ones; doors open onto the garden so when it’s warm they can toddle in and out and it’s easy for you to keep an eye on them.

Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor, off the hallway and is fully accessible; it sleeps 3 and has an en suite wet room. Upstairs a long landing leads to Bedrooms 2 to 6 and the spacious family bathroom. All bedrooms except Bedroom 3 have en suite shower rooms and all have zip and link beds that you can have arranged as a super king or twins – just let us know and we’ll do the rest. Bedroom 2 has a sofa bed which can be set up as two extra singles to accommodate two more children. The far reaching views from this room are phenomenal! What a start to the day! A cup of tea in bed, gazing out over miles and miles of rolling green hills...

Exclusively yours for the whole of your stay is that awesome Spa Hall just across the lawn from the house; we don’t like to show off, but just wait till you see it! Light pours in through the floor to ceiling windows, there’s a heated pool, a sunken hot tub and a sauna, and recliners to lounge about on.

The landscaped gardens have been very well thought out, with mature shrubs and trees, and paths that meander through vibrant flower beds. While away summer afternoons playing boules, or with a game of badminton, clock golf or croquet on the lawn; younger children will love the climbing fort, the roundabout, the nest swing and the big bouncy trampoline. Amble along the lavender lined path beneath the pergola, take five woolgathering on a tree seat or sneak off to a quiet corner and get your head in a book. On the decking The Giant’s Table is the perfect place to gather for an alfresco lunch or afternoon tea; great company, tasty food, amazing views. What more could you want?

The garden attracts a lot of wildlife which is a joy to watch; bees and butterflies come to feed on the nectar rich flowers, nuthatches, greater spotted woodpeckers, long tailed tits and chaffinches are regular visitors to the bird table; if you keep very, very still you can watch them from the kitchen or the snug. Let the young ‘uns top up the birdfeeders and keep a diary to note which of our feathered friends they spot. And of course you've got the whole of the farm to explore; our About page will tell you more.

You don't even need to worry if the weather lets you down because it doesn’t stop you making good use of the spa hall, and at the front of the house there’s a covered games area with table tennis, table football and an extra large Connect 4, all geared up for rainy day fun. Besides, if you have a look in the cupboards and on the shelves, you’ll find loads to keep you occupied – board games, books, even toys for the tinies. We’ve thought of everything, because we want you to have a wonderful stay. The Cottage Beyond isn’t just a place to stay, it’s a place to enjoy.
